What Is a BDE Course?

BDE stands for Beginner Driver Education. It is a structured program mandated by the MTO that combines 20 hours of classroom learning and 10 hours of in-car training. Completing a BDE program:

  • Earns you an MTO completion certificate
  • Reduces your G2 road test waiting period from 12 to 8 months
  • Makes you eligible for significant insurance discounts
  • Builds a strong foundation of safe driving habits
